The US War Dogs Association Chapter 1 Western Division
The United States War Dogs Association, Inc. Chapter 1 Western Region is a 501(c)(3) approved nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation and is not organized for the private gain of any person and is organized under the Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law for public and charitable purposes. The specific purpose of the corporation is to promote the long history of Military Service Dogs/U.S. Military Working/War Dogs, establish permanent War Dog Memorials and educate the public about the invaluable service of these canines to our Country.
United States War Dogs Association Objectives
1. Support - Through our fund-raising efforts, provide assistance and support service organizations such as the U.S. Military War Dogs, Police Canine Unit and Search & Rescue Units. We provide critical care and comfort for Military War Dogs and their Handlers both during and after deployment. OPERATION MILITARY CARE K-9 is our support mission to help with MWD/Handler care by donations for care packages that we send overseas.

2. Education - Bring the honorable history of the courageous U.S. Military War Dogs who served in all American Wars to the general public using –
(a) Permanent and temporary displays at libraries, churches, schools and other publicly-accessible locations;
(b) Public appearances at speaking events, radio and T.V. shows and festivals.

3. K-9 Corps Commemorative Stamp Drive - Coordinate collection of signed petitions to the U.S. Postal Service to issue a commemorative stamp honoring Military Working Dogs.
4. War Dog Memorial - Raise funds to establish a National U.S. War Dog Memorial and local memorials.

5. K-9 Adoption - Help with repatriation of retired Military Working/War Dogs and help in the process of finding homes including providing high-quality dog food for the first year
6. Post-deployment Services - Post-deployment outreach for returning U.S. War Dogs and their Handlers by offering training to all.
