Camp Rimini is a former sled dog training center using to train dogs to be used in the Invasion of Norway during World War II. The invasion was cancelled and all of the over 800 sled dogs and pack dogs were stationed in other remote parts of Baffinland, Greenland, Antarctica, and Alaska to perform search and rescue missions. They recovered much equipment, soldiers and sometimes returned soldiers for a proper burial. This camp was in existence from 1942 to early 1944 right outside Helena, Montana, at the base of McDonald Pass.
